Charleston Campus –Members of the ECPI University Honour Society visited the Hanahan Senior Center to teach seniors about Facebook and how to to use Smartphones.
Charlotte Campus – Members of the Medical Professionals Club went to Soup’s On – an event that occurs twice a month to provide food to the homeless – and handed out fresh fruit, granola bars, breakfast burritos, and hot coffee.
Columbia Campus – More than two dozen students, faculty, and staff participated in this year’s American Heart Association Midlands Heart Walk.
Newport News Campus – Faculty members Humphrey Minx, Kandy Mills, and Betty Davis served as judges at the annual Norfolk Public Schools Science Fair.
Online – Staff members Rae Sewell and Janet Hamel volunteered with Operation Tattooing Freedom (OTF) at the Hampton Roads Tattoo Festival. OTF is a non-profit organization founded by veteran and ECPI University Online MBA alumni Lewis Hunt. OTF offers communication sessions for veterans that suffer from emotional or physical disorders due to their time in service. During those sessions, veterans receive a tattoo and the opportunity to talk with fellow veterans about their time in the military and day-to-day life outside of the service.
Richmond/Emerywood Campus – Dental Assisting student Victoria Murillo volunteered at Give Kids a Smile, helping teach children how to properly brush and explaining why it’s so important.
Richmond/Moorefield Campus – Students, faculty, and staff participated in a jeans day fundraiser to support the American Heart Association during American Heart Month.
Virginia Beach Campus – Dental Assisting students Bridgette Delikat, Lungile Beede, and Dara White volunteered to visit a local daycare center to teach children about good oral hygiene as part of Children’s Dental Health Month.
