New Parent Cooking Classes at Sentara Taught by the Culinary Institute of Virginia

With a new baby comes lots of changes. Most notably, less time in the day and less money in the bank. That’s why Sentara Healthcare reached out to ECPI University’s College of Culinary Arts, Culinary Institute of Virginia (CIV), to develop a series of new parent cooking courses. “When we talked with new moms, we learned that there was a gap,” says Sentara spokeswoman Caitlyn Worner. “We really want them to feel supported throughout their entire pregnancy journey.”

Each class is designed with time, nutrition, and affordability in mind. “Connecting with CIV was just something that was natural to do,” said Sentara CarePlex Hospital Clinical Manager Jackie Jones. “People are always talking about wellness and how to eat better, not just during pregnancy, but after pregnancy.”
