Making Their Mark

Candice Sayre, ECPI University Director of Career Services, recently earned her Ph.D. in psychology.  Her dissertation centered on the qualitative experiences of nontraditional students who drop out of college.  

Nicole Johnson, a nursing graduate of the Newport News campus, was recently honored by Mary Immaculate Hospital with two Daisy Awards which recognize excellence and compassion among bedside nurses.

Dr. Toni Chamberlain, Radiologic Services Program Director, spent Christmas morning delivering donations of clothing, diapers, and food to four families that recently immigrated to the United States from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Robin Matutina, Director of Nursing at the Charleston campus, has been named President-elect of the Sigma Theta Tau’s Gamma Omicron at-Large chapter. The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing is the second-largest nursing organization in the world with approximately 135,000 active members.

Dr. Sonia Vishneski, DNP, WHNP-BC; Dr. Bill Warrington, Ph.D., APRN, FNP-C, CCRP; Dr. Stephanie Stavish, DNP, FNP-BC; and Dr. De-Dee Foti, DNP, RN, faculty members of ECPI University’s Family Practitioner Program, have been selected to deliver a virtual podium presentation at the 47th Annual Conference of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties this spring. The topic: Evaluating Nurse Practitioner Students During a Pandemic: An Innovative Design Using Virtual Role-Play.
